Finding mentors, getting experience
Springboard, a bootcamp provider, is blurring the line between coding bootcamps and tech apprenticeships by offering students experiential learning and paid work experience. Their fully online learning tracks include coaching and one-to-one industry mentors to help students prepare for tech jobs. They've partnered with Riipen to provide real-life employer projects, and also collaborate with universities and employers to offer turnkey tech training. Though the industry faces challenges, AllCampus, a Chicago-based OPM, sees growing demand for microcredentials, especially from employers seeking to upskill their workforce.
“It is an externship where students are paired with real companies, typically startups, and execute actual projects for the business,” says Raza.
