Introducing Diverse Tech Talent Program (DTTP): Your Pathway to a Thriving Tech Career
Introduction
Welcome to the Diverse Tech Talent Program (DTTP), an initiative brought to you by World Innovation League (WIL) in collaboration with Atila, Co.Lab, Riipen, and Skillhat. DTTP is poised to reshape the future of tech by fostering diversity, providing specialized training, and opening doors to exciting career opportunities. In this blog post, we'll delve into the program's details, expected outcomes, key dates, and the outstanding contributions of our partner organizations.
About DTTP
DTTP is a unique program designed to address a critical issue in the tech industry: the underrepresentation of Black Canadians and newcomers aged 18-35. With just 2.6% of the tech workforce being Black, DTTP aims to empower these demographics through targeted training, mentorship, and job placement.
Expected Outcomes
Our primary goal is to increase the representation of Black Canadians in high-demand tech roles. DTTP will provide targeted tech training to prepare participants for high-demand roles, including roles in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Finance, Blockchain, Cybersecurity, and Healthcare. Participants will acquire skills in Web Development, Product Management and Business Analysis, and UI/UX Design (Product Design), preparing them for successful careers in these dynamic fields.
Meet Our Partners
DTTP's success is made possible through the collective efforts of our esteemed partners, each bringing their unique expertise and resources to the table:
World Innovation League (WIL) - League: WIL has global inter-continental experience running Hackathons and Incubation programs to prepare participants for tech roles and for fostering Startup creation for economic empowerment. WIL is the lead of the DTTP program and would execute the Hackathon component of the program.
Atila: Atila specializes in employment readiness training, mentor matching, resume, and portfolio development and will focus on providing vital mentorship to program participants
Co.Lab: Co.Lab is instrumental in project management training, business analysis training, and skill mentorship.
Riipen: Riipen is the #1 work-based learning platform helping educators, organizations, and learners collaborate on real industry projects to bridge the gap between higher education and employment. With a network of 31000+ employers and trusted by 590 academic institutions and training providers, Riipen helps educators and training providers integrate real-employer projects into program curriculum leading to improved student engagement and employability outcomes. As the final part of DTTP, participants will complete digital tech placements with Canadian employers on the Riipen platform. They will build meaningful connections with employers, showcase their specialist skills, and enrich their tech portfolio as they move forward in their career journey.
Skillhat: Skillhat is instrumental in Software Development, UI/UX Design (Product Design) training, and skill mentorship.
These partnerships are essential in delivering a well-rounded program that equips participants with the skills, knowledge, and connections needed to succeed in the tech industry.
