Truist Foundation & CAEL – Where It Starts: Build Better Careers
The Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) is spearheading a six-year national project, "Where It Starts," funded by the Truist Foundation, aimed at enhancing connections between postsecondary institutions, financial services, and workforce development groups. This initiative will empower adult learners by offering affordable postsecondary classes, linking job seekers to higher-paying opportunities, and encouraging financial organizations to hire and support adult learners. CAEL is launching this project in five cities, including Charlotte, Memphis, and Miami, seeking collaboration among industry leaders, workforce developers, and educational institutions to bridge gaps in employment pathways and promote economic mobility, especially for women and BIPOC individuals.
