UND partners with company to connect businesses with faculty, students
The University of North Dakota (UND) has partnered with Riipen, a web company likened to a dating app for connecting companies, faculty, and students. Riipen facilitates collaborations between higher education and industry, allowing students to gain real-world experience through projects and internships with companies globally. Jeff Holm, UND's vice provost for online education, explained that educators can create project profiles on Riipen, describing the class and its integration with the curriculum. Businesses can then review these projects and collaborate with faculty to provide students with valuable hands-on experiences. This initiative aims to prepare students for their future careers by offering real-world problem-solving opportunities and industry connections.
"I could go on to Riipen and create a project that would describe what my class is all about," said Holm, noting that such details as how many students are to be involved, how they would work and how it was integrated into the class curriculum would be included. "And then businesses are doing the same thing.”
